Service Based Interface (SBI) is based on HTTP/2 for the application layer, uses TCP for transport, JSON for serialization, and OpenAPI for Interface Description Language (IDL). 3GPP introduces SBI to define 5G core network. A normal SBI communication starts with a HTTP/2 request message from the client and the server send a response. A SBI communication with a callback feature starts with a HTTP/2 request message from the client including the callback URI. The server will call back with a notify request message in a new flow.
